Fun, Friends, & Food! Oh...and a little something I learned!

Ahhh...the three F's! Nothing beats spending a weekend with the girls! It has just been a rough couple of weeks. No, it has been a terrible couple of weeks! I am putting all of that aside though and hanging out with the girls this weekend! We are packing up and headed to St. Louis. Of course, I can't tell you everything that we are doing, but you can bet that shopping will be invovled!

On another note...I have been reading a lot lately. Well, I always read a lot since I am completing my Masters, but I have actually been reading books that are a little more interesting. Anyhow, I have learned a lot this past week. Here is just a little "Life Lesson" I put together.

Follow Your Heart? We hear that a lot these days, but what does it really mean and is it what we should be doing? Our hearts are so sensitive and can be very decieving. Our heart follows what feels right to it at that particular moment in time. People lose their life savings on a hand of poker, quit a dream job for a vacation destination, take up a life of substance abuse, and many other unspeakable things on a whim. Therefore, playing the game of "follow your heart" is such a dangerous game to play. God does have a big hand in how our heart feels and operates (if we walk with him), but make no mistake; the devil does too. Things can be going great, your heart is full of love and kindness and the it gets a "whiff" of something else. This "whiff" is stinking up the place, but that darn devil is making you think it smells great.

The bible says, "He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely will be delivered". People lose so much when following their hearts. Therefore, we need to be concentrating on leading our hearts. We can lead our hearts to what is right and what God has set forth for us. Everything else is just the work of the devil.

Proverbs 23:17 "Do not let your heart envy sinners."
Proverbs 23:13 "Direct your heart in the way."

How do we lead our hearts? This is a battle that is forever fought. Our hearts naturally follow what we make investments in. So, we must concentrate on making investments into what is right and what is holy. Spend more time with your families, eat healthier, talk to God more, and continually make investments into the good. Your heart will naturally follow. But, please do this before it is too late. Sometimes, investments can't be made into something that is already gone.

I hope I made you think a little! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND and don't forget to enter my giveaways!
