A Poem for ME
"Through the toughest times in my life, you stood by me undeterred
Even when you were in distress, nothing of your own for you mattered
Through it all you stood strong, you stood for me and you held me close
You mended me, changed me, motivated me and saved me from life’s blows
I yell, I scream, I complain and I hurt you many times still, it’s almost now habitual
But you have mastered to calm the winds and settle the seas without any ritual
Your love has triumphed o’er and captured the fortress of doubts, my weakness
And now I can see love shining through your eyes with a glow of happiness
Your patience, your endurance, your true love broke all the barriers of time and age
I am lifted and blessed to finally understand that love prevails, so hear my message."
Another Anniversary is upon us. Each year that goes by, we learn more and more about each other. I must say, that I never knew what unconditional love really was until now. This is a kind of love that does not just happen in a short amount of time. This kind of love is almost indescribable. It is a love that is there regardless of what life brings.
On this anniversary, we are taking a vow to throw out those life regrets, mistakes, and hardships. All of those horrid circumstances that are weighting our family down are being thrown out with the garbage (where they belong). This is a year for change and renewal. This is a year for peace, happiness, and unconditional love.
